Explained
What is SEO (search engine optimization)?
SEO (search engine optimization) is setting up your website so Google understands and shows it: technology (speed, sitemap, clean HTML), content (pages answering your customers' questions) and authority (mentions and links). SEO is about positions in the classic list of blue links — for direct answers and AI search there are AEO and GEO.
What it involves in practice
For a smaller business SEO is mostly local and concrete: a page per service and per place you work, a Google Business Profile carrying exactly the same name, address and phone number as your site, load times under a second, and a heading structure that reads like a table of contents. It isn't a box of tricks but setup: a site that is technically sound and answers real questions gets found. Promises about 'position 1' nobody can keep — anyone guaranteeing that is selling something other than SEO.
SEO, AEO and GEO side by side
SEO makes you findable by people who search and click. AEO (answer engine optimization) gets your answer quoted literally in the answer box at the top. GEO (generative engine optimization) makes ChatGPT and Perplexity know and recommend your business. It's separate work with separate techniques — which is why they're three separate modules on your website with us, taken together or apart.
How long does SEO take?
Count on months, not weeks: Google has to crawl the new structure, index it and weigh it against the competition, and no button speeds that up. The first movement usually shows after four to eight weeks, a stable effect after three to six months. That's exactly why SEO is a monthly module on the website with us and not a one-off project: the work — adding pages, maintaining the tech, measuring what happens — doesn't stop at delivery, and anyone promising you 'top position within two weeks' is selling something that doesn't exist.
